Dog Age Calculator
Convert your dog's age into human years. Accounts for breed size — small dogs age slower than giant ones.
How the dog age calculator works
The old "1 dog year = 7 human years" rule is a myth. Dogs mature very quickly in their first two years — roughly 15 human years for year one and 9 more for year two. After that, each dog year is worth 4–7 human years depending on breed size.
Breed size matters
- Small breeds (Chihuahua, Dachshund) age the slowest
- Medium breeds (Beagle, Border Collie) age at an average rate
- Large breeds (Labrador, Boxer) age faster
- Giant breeds (Great Dane, Mastiff) age the fastest
